Gymnázium UB

Spolupráci na projektu Media4Democracy jsme zahájili v září 2019. Po prvním setkání v Berlíně však i naše plány narušila covidová karanténa, lockdown a zavřené hranice.

Po více než dvouletém pravidelném setkávání online jsme konečně partnery z Nizozemí, Švédska, Itálie a Německa přivítali na Gymnáziu JAK v Uherském Brodě osobně! Opět jsme tak mohli naplnit základní smysl programu Evropské unie Erasmus+, který podporuje spolupráci a vzdělávání studentů prostřednictvím výměnných pobytů ve státech EU.

Tématem tohoto týdne byla Propaganda v historickém kontextu.

V neděli 27. března 2022 jsme se setkali v Praze, kde studenti pátrali „po stopách komunismu“, následující týden pak strávili na půdě Gymnázia JAK v Uherském Brodě. Do Uherského Brodu všichni dorazili 28. března, symbolicky v den 430. výročí narození J. A. Komenského. Brána jazyků byla otevřená dokořán.

Studenti si před příjezdem připravili prezentace o zneužití propagandy v historii svých zemí, pracovali na workshopu „Mandelinka – americký brouk“, s historikem Marcelem Mahdalem si prošli iWalk v Uherském Brodě, diskutovali o společných rysech propagandy v minulosti a současnosti, a na závěr vytvořili pozitivní propagandu našeho projektu MEDIA4DEMOCRACY.

27 zahraničních hostů bylo ubytováno v rodinách studentů gymnázia, kteří se jim postarali i o večerní program. Ze všeho nejdůležitějším na tomto setkání, bylo každopádně setkání samotné. Přečtěte si slova studentů, českých i zahraničních, která nejlépe vyjadřují jejich nadšení.

Tento týden, který ještě vlastně pořád zpracovávám, byl nejlepší týden v mém životě a zároveň taky jeden z nejnáročnějších. Hrozně rád bývám mezi lidmi, ale moje sociální baterie má určitou kapacitu, která byla prázdná už druhý den. Nakonec to vlastně ani moc nevadilo, protože naši noví přátelé měli schopnost nabít vás energií během chvilky. Praha nás okouzlila úplně všechny, řekl bych, že zahraničním studentům se moc líbila. Program, který jsme měli ve škole, byl taky velmi propracovaný, zábavný a plný diskuzí. Po večerech jsme se seznamovali s tím, jak se věci mají v jiných zemích a jak se jim tam vlastně žije. Zahraniční studenti taky neunikli zvídavým dotazům našich rodičů. Například mého hosta z Nizozemska se moje maminka zeptala, čím vlastně vytápějí domy v Nizozemsku.

Celkově jsem si týden moc užil, všichni jsme si našli spoustu nových kamarádů, se kterými se ještě určitě uvidíme a máme vzpomínky na celý život. Obrovské díky patří taky našim organizátorkám, které odvedly spoustu nelehké práce, bez nich bych teď neměl příběhy pro svá budoucí vnoučata. Za všechny studenty z Erasmu+ vám tedy z celého srdce děkuji za nejlepší týden mého života.

When I signed into this project, I was sceptical. Taking care of a student from a different country is out of my comfort zone. But after this week I can easily say it was worth it and I would do it again.

The week started in Prague. It was a bit chaotic because of the flight delays but everything was fine. I was accommodating Noah from the Netherlands and I’m glad I „picked“ such a nice guy. Everyone from the Netherlands was amazing to hang out with and I’m glad I’ve met them. Of course, I can’t forget the other countries, the students were so much fun. The project activities during the week were educational, I learnt something new about my town and about propaganda. But I have to say that the discussion with a historian was a disappointment. I’m glad that I had a chance to talk to students from different schools in Europe, I learnt a lot about the way they live and about their culture. The worst thing about this week was seeing them leave on Friday morning.

A long journey to Uhersky Brod that I would do again a thousand times. I will always carry in my heart this experience that made me grow, mature and that taught me so much about foreign cultures! I will always be grateful to have met such wonderful people that I hope to meet again as soon as possible. I already miss everything and especially everyone. Despite having spent only 4 days with people I’ve never met before, spread all across Europe, I feel like I’ve known them for a lifetime. I could keep writing but thinking about the past week makes me more and more nostalgic and, let’s be honest, I’ve already cried a lot. I want to thank everyone for this beautiful and crazy week in Czech Republic, you won’t be forgotten!

I can describe Erasmus+ with one word only – home, it is such a safe place for us. I feel like I learned throughout this week much more than normally in lessons and not just that, I also found (hopefully) life lasting friends. It did not feel real at all, all those memories we made, all the things I have learned about other countries, we were total strangers but still held each other’s back when we needed help and became one big family. Media4Democracy was the best topic to talk about, it’s very different in each country so we got completely different points of view on history and even connected it with things that are happening around us now. I´m glad that I could be a part of this as a host person; to be honest, it was one of the best experiences in my life.

I think the Erasmus project is the best thing ever, now I know how it’s like to live in a Czech family and now I know that you can make so many special connections with people in such a short time. I really hope we all meet again. The project itself was really interesting because each country had its own answers to the same object.

I’m so grateful that I could be part of that amazing experience. Over the past week, we have all learnt something new, both about the history and the cultures of all the countries involved. I would recommend to all students, if they have the opportunity, they should definitely get involved in the project. The memories and friendships we have created will remain with us for the rest of our lives. We are already counting down the days until the summer holidays, when we will meet our foreign friends again.

Jakmile jsem se dozvěděla od paní profesorky dějepisu, že máme možnost účastnit se projektu Erasmus+, což zahrnuje rozšíření si vědomostí v rámci médií jak dřívějších, tak i současných, návštěvu jiných zemí, poznání jejich kultur a samozřejmě nových lidí, neváhala jsem a přihlásila se.

Nejprve nás čekalo spoustu práce, pravidelné schůzky na 7 ráno, tvorba dotazníku pro všechny věkové kategorie, vyhledávání informací ohledně propagand za komunismu či nacismu, což bylo náročné. Avšak po příjezdu studentů z Německa, Itálie, Švédska a Nizozemí jsme si uvědomili, že všechna ta práce stála za to, jelikož jsme díky ní mohli prožít úžasné 4 dny se skvělými lidmi, které máme v plánu navštívit i mimo program Erasmus+. This week was absolutely crazy and I will remember it for the rest of my life. It all started in Prague, where we had a meeting with other participants from different countries. We were having there a guided night tour. It was wonderful and we all spent a great time exploring ”night Prague”. Then we went back to Uhersky Brod by train and took our guests with us home. I was accommodating Ruggero from Italy. Really cool guy, you should have met him ;). All three days in Uhersky Brod, we were discussing propaganda and communism. It all passed in no time and It was over. To sum it up, I would like to say that if you ever will have a chance to participate in this kind of project, you should definitely go for it. You won’t regret it.

When I decided to join Erasmus project, it was mainly to meet new people. And for the people I have met I will always be grateful. It all started with two-day trip to Prague, where we met our new friends. The activities in Prague were great and we also had enough time to get to know foreign students. When we arrived in Uherský Brod, we already knew each other enough to call ourselves friends. Activities, which were prepared for us were alright, but I believe the workshop with a historian could be much better; I was disappointed with his workshop. To be honest, last days were the greatest and made their departure even harder. I miss them already and I’m really looking forward to meeting them again. Participating in Erasmus+ project may be one of my greatest life experiences.

Před příjezdem studenta z Nizozemí, kterého jsem ubytovával, jsem byl trochu nervózní, přece jen cizinec k nám nejezdí každý druhý den. Dost jsem se obával, jestli moje znalosti anglického jazyka budou stačit. Když ale přijel, zjistil jsem, že moje obavy byly zbytečné… Enes se hodně se zajímal o život v České republice, její tradice, jídlo i kulturu. Taky mi toho hodně řekl o Nizozemsku.

Program ve škole se věnoval totalitním režimům, propagandě a jejím reálným důsledkům nejen v Uherském Brodě. Dalším z témat bylo, zda politika patří do školy a jak by se o ní mělo případně bavit. Mně přijdou tato témata velice důležitá, protože politika, ať se nám to líbí nebo ne, (ne)přímo ovlivňuje naše životy. A vést tuto diskusi s lidmi z různých států Evropy, kde mají různé politické systémy a to vše probírat v anglickém jazyce, bylo velice zajímavé. Celkově bych celý týden hodnotil velice kladně a chtěl bych hlavně poděkovat učitelům, vedení školy a všem, kdo se na přípravě tohoto projektu podíleli, že jsem mohl být jeho součástí.

I think that this Erasmus visit was great planed out and that we got to have a lot of fun in Uhersky Brod. Also learning. We from Sweden, or at least I felt that we didn’t get enough time in Prague, but that is probably because of our delayed flight. Also because of the rain we should have switched days when we were talking about the history of Uhersky Brod and waking around outside in the town to the first day when it wasn’t raining. But maybe that wasn’t possible. Overall the time we had was great and really good Uhersky Brod.

I thought Erasmus was a fun opportunity to get to know new people from all over Europe and learn about their languages ​​and cultures. It was fun to see what the Czech Republic looked like and learn about the history of Uhersky Brod and how people who live there have it. I really enjoyed the trip!

I learned a lot during this week about the effect of propaganda on the world and different countries. I also liked the iWalk through the city with the videos which were very informative. Aside from the informative things we also did a lot of fun things like walks through the region and hanging out with the group. It’s a week I’ll never forget!

Erasmus + was a life changing experience and I have friends that hopefully last for life. Erasmus really gave me something more to life and it was really fun. Media for democracy was a good topic and I learned a lot about propaganda. The learning process was fun and the way it was structured made it even more fun, I really enjoyed it and it gave me life long memories
